The Treehouse and Skyland are unique Munzee types that fall into the Destination Munzee category. While they operates similarly to the other Destination Munzees in some capacities, they both have unique features that make it extra special! Unlike the other Destination Munzees, the Treehouse and Skyland Munzee contains the ability to be captured once per player per 24 hour MHQ day just like Places Munzees. They can also attract up to six Player Owned Bouncing (POB) Munzees at a time! That means lots of points!
Treehouse Details
The Treehouse Munzee is a physical Destination Munzee that allows up to 6 POBs to land on it. Keep in mind that the Treehouse Munzee can only be capped once a day regardless of the number of POBs hanging out, since new POB landings do NOT refresh the capture setting. The point structure of the Treehouse Munzee depends on the number of POBs in the Treehouse at the time of capture:
Points:
- Deploy: 100 points
- Cap: 10 points + points for whatever POBs are in the Treehouse at the time of capture.
- CapOn: 25 points
The deploy circle for Treehouses is 1,000 feet (304.8 m) from the nearest Treehouse, while all other normal 50/150 feet proximity rules apply. To access the Treehouse Munzee, turn on your Physical filter and find it under “Destinations.” It’s also included in the Premium filters under “All Mythologicals” and “All Expiring Specials.”

Treehouse Munzees are beneficial for players to use because they provide quick and high points, easy access to multiple POB caps at once, the ability to share love with other POB owners, and assistance with achieving POB clan requirements quicker. The Treehouse Munzee will count toward the overall Destination capture line the first time you cap it. Therefore daily caps will not count toward badges, only the first time you cap it.
Treehouse Attraction Process
The Treehouse Icon will change to show the number of POBs hanging out. Players will see the base icon for 0, but then a 1-6 as more bouncers stop by. A Treehouse will attract up to 6 POBs over time, but you can use a physical Munzee Magnet to draw a total of 6 POBs much quicker. Only physical Myths, Variants, and Pouch Creatures will land on a Treehouse (No MOBs, TOBs, Fancy Flats, or virtual Myths). The Regular POB timer is still in effect. If a POB times out, it leaves the Treehouse and leaves an open spot for others to join.
Players who have their "Owned" filter turned on to see Greenies in their area may want to keep in mind that because the Treehouse is a unique Munzee type, when the Owned filter is turned on, a full color image of a deployed Treehouse will appear. It will be different from the other grayed out types. Since you can only cap a Treehouse once per day, it may be misleading to see the colorized Treehouse under the Owned filter if you have already used your daily cap. Therefore be conscientious of only capping once daily so you don’t accidentally use a magnet on a Treehouse you’ve already capped for the day.
The following visuals will help you to better understand the Treehouse attraction process. When no specials have landed on a Treehouse yet, it will appear as follows:
The treehouse is an enhanced landing pad with a stronger than usual attraction for some POBs. That means that POBs will eventually be attracted to it without the usage of magnets, though magnets quicken this process. The following images display a Treehouse with 2 specials that landed on it naturally:
As you can see from the photos, the pin shows the number 2 to represent the number of specials, while the Munzee details shows a list of specials currently there, and the timer at the top displays the timer of the special that expires the soonest. If you want to see the timer of another special, just tap on it in the list.
If a magnet was used on a Treehouse to quickly attract up to 6 specials, it would appear as follows:
As you can tell from these images, the pin now shows the number 6 to reflect the number of specials. The munzee details page can be scrolled to view all specials. Capping will show the success image on the far right. After dismissing the capture pop up, you’ll then see a pop up for each special you have captured from the Treehouse, such as the following:
How to Deploy & Convert a Treehouse
Ready to deploy and convert your Treehouse Munzee credits? The processes are easy. Like converting other munzee credits, deploy your munzee via your mobile device as you normally would do. You will be able to convert undeployed or deployed munzees as long as they have no captures on them. You can read about this process fully under How to Convert a Munzee Using Credits.
When deploying your munzee, give it a name and edit the location. Next you will see the option to “Make if Special!” If you have any Treehouse Munzee credits, they will appear on this screen. Tap on the Treehouse icon to continue the conversion process.
Then you will simply verify that you wish to convert the munzee intro a Treehouse, at which point your Treehouse Munzee will be deployed.
You will be able to find your available credits under the Inventory tab on your player profile.
The Skyland Munzee falls into the Destination Munzee category. Like the Treehouse Munzee, the Skyland contains the ability to be captured once per player per 24 hour MHQ day.
Skyland Details
The Skyland Munzee is a virtual Destination Munzee that allows up to 6 POBs to land on it. Refer to the visuals above in the Treehouse Attraction Process section help you to better understand the Skyland attraction process.
How to Deploy a Skyland
Ready to deploy a Skyland of your own? The process is the same as deploying other virtual Destinations. You can read about this process fully under Virtual Resort & Vacation Condo Deployment. Just keep in mind that the Skyland has slightly different distance requirements, as explained above!
Badges
Jack & The Jelly Beanstalk Badge Line
With the introduction of Skyland comes a new badge line based on Treehouse and Skyland points! That means all of the points you earn from Capping, Deploying, and CapOns for both Treehouses and Skylands. NOTE: These points do NOT include the POBs captured on the munzee.
The first badge in the series is called "Magic Jelly Beans" which you get when you earn 100 Total Points from Treehouse and Skyland combined. Once you’ve earned the first in the set, you’ll unlock the requirements for the next badge!
Skyland will also count toward the overall Destination captures badge line the first time you cap it. That means daily caps will not count toward badges, only the first time you cap it.
