Tourism Munzees

Our line of Tourism Munzees include both Historical Location and Iconic Location Munzees. These munzees are all deployed by MHQ accounts throughout specific areas of the world in order to bring players to historically or culturally significant points of interest. You can learn more about all of these munzees below, and access these munzees on the map by turning on your Tourism Filter. 

Note that none of the Tourism Munzees are blastable. If you ever notice any munzees are deployed in the completely wrong place, please contact support with the name/URL of the munzee and the correct information.

Historical Location 

Historical Location Munzees are Virtual Munzees deployed at historical points of interest throughout specific areas based on a database of historical markers. There are currently 4 different Historical Location Munzees on the map, with more coming in the future.

Players will earn between 18 and 45 points when captured. Players are able to earn a set of 5 badges for capturing Texas Historical Location Munzees.	Players will earn between 18 and 45 points when captured. Players are able to earn a set of 5 badges for capturing Florida Historical Location Munzees.	Players will earn between 18 and 50 points when captured. Players are able to earn a set of 5 badges for capturing California Historical Location Munzees.	Players will earn between 19 and 45 points when captured. There is not a specific line of badges associated with the World Heritage Historical Location Munzees, but captures will count towards the overall line of Tourism badges.

Iconic Location

Iconic Location Munzees are Virtual Munzees deployed at culturally significant points of interest throughout specific areas. There are currently 8 different Iconic Location Munzees on the map, with more coming in the future. There are not specific lines of badges associated with the Iconic Location Munzees, but captures will count towards the overall line of Tourism badges.

Assorted Tourism Munzees

In addition to our Historical and Iconic Location Tourism Munzees, we also have assorted Tourism Munzees deployed in different areas. Like the other Tourism Munzees, they can all be accessed under the Tourism filter. Some of these assorted munzees are particular to distinct cities or areas, such as the Garfield icons located at each of the Garfield statues in Muncie, IN and Grant County.

Tourism Badges

In addition to the specific badge lines that some of the Tourism Munzees have, there is an overall line of badges for capturing Tourism Munzees. These badges are primarily linked to the Historic and Iconic Munzees from different countries around the world and states in the US, but they will also include some of the one-off assorted Tourism Munzees as well. Currently, of the one-off Tourism Munzees, only the Garfield Statue munzees will contribute progress towards this line.

There are currently six badges in total based on captures. Though the badges can only be earned in specific areas, they will continue to be expanded as the Tourism line grows.
